IT'S MY BIRTHDAY TODAY!

Today I turned…29! Ya I'm just going to throw it out there, I'm almost 30. I was pondering on what I accomplished, learned, and enjoyed in my 28th year of life and thought it would make for a fun birthday blog post. Everyone usually posts what gifts they usually want and all I want is…


Haha I know boring right!? NO, NOT AT ALL! The gift of travel is way better than any purse or clothing item, it never goes out of style and the memories will last your whole life! BUT, not everyone wants to spend a minimum of $50 on you, so I'll just keep dreaming and working hard. 
Ok back to 
What I accomplished my 28th year of life…

* I helped design, watch built, and moved into my very first house! 
   That was a fun adventure, yet it turned out amazingly and now furnishing it is even more fun!
* Became a Charge Nurse and a Grade 15 over the Code Blue department in the ICU and hospital I
    work at. Wow, I've learned loads here and doors have opened up like crazy for my career. Which
    brings me to my next problem with work…I need a new long term career goal…life flight?
    Management? I don't know yet…
* Getting pregnant is harder than we thought. We have been trying for a year now and I've had 2
   rounds of Clomid…so guess we will keep trying.
* Travelled…I went to 4 different countries and 6 different states. I'm planning our next adventure now.
   CAN'T WAIT!
* Paid off my car! I've never had to buy my own car and I bought it straight off the lot, with only 8
   miles on it. Makes me want a new one, but I'll save that money for the vacations.
* Sneakers are my fav. Even though I have a huge collection of heels I literally every day wear
   sneakers. 
* I've become more me. This year out of all years I've lived true to what I feel, like, and believe. I've
   realize I'm not the 'JCREW' fashion blogger and moved on (There is no problem with that, it's just not  
   my style). I've stood up for myself in religious thoughts and have lived the life that makes me happy.
   I've spent more time outdoors, which I love! 

I've conquered fears, I've completed life goals, and I've made new ones. I have a feeling that 29 won't be so bad. Here is to turning 29 years old!

Who inspires me??

I've never done a post about which fashions bloggers inspire me and why, so here it is! 
My top five inspirations in no certain order:
Sincerely Jules
In my opinion Jules is classy and edgy at the same time. I love how her outfits are practical and you see her actually in sneakers and not just high heels all the time. 
Atlantic-Pacific
Who doesn't find Atlantic-Pacific their inspiration…
The Native Fox
Yes, The Native Fox is my inspiration, does that surprise anyone who looks at my blog? I love her use of black and white, her edgy style, and that hair! 
Beauty & Truth
This is a local gal and my personal friend. Aubry has a very classic look to her style which I love. She inspires me to take a step back and look at the quality and style of each piece I purchase. 
Sea of Shoes
Sea of Shoes is an inspiration because she steps out of the box and wears those pieces with confidence.

 Da ta da daaaa, da ta daa, da ta da taaaa, da ta da da da…..Just call me Indi today! In all seriousness I love this hat! My head is so small it's very rare I find a hat that fits…or I can pull off that's slightly too big. This one is slightly too big but it's not drowning me to my eyeballs, so it will do.

Can I just say that this outfit was my attempt to wearing something springy…ya very poor attempt let me tell you. I've always known I love dark colors, but never realized that my closet is infested by it all. The thing is if I did spend the money to buy some more bright colors I probably wouldn't wear them very much and it would just end up being a waste. I'll stick to my dark colors…they love me and I love them!

Blue Blue Blue

 I'm almost wearing ALL blue! It only made sense that I took pictures in front of a blue brick wall. Duh! Thank you to the company that decided to paint a whole brick wall blue…crazy! Jeff and I were suppose to be in Portland this week and next, but we aren't :( It would have been so much fun. I absolutely love Portland, so much that I'd be willing to move there. Heck nurses make $30 more an hr than they do here, plus living expenses aren't that different…what the crap am I still doing here?! Not to mention VooDoo Donuts are there! Oh dear goodness I love love love donuts! I still need to try this donut truck that's been driving around. If anyone see's it in SLC please IG (@nikkihep) me and tell me where it is! I need to try it, absolute NEED or I won't live!

On a side note, my little pup Boomer has a UTI :( talk about the worst thing ever! I feel bad because we have to put him in the mudroom when we leave and remove the rug just in case. I can't wait until the vet is open on monday so I can get the poor dude some help. So sad :(

If you haven't noticed I'm a sneaker kind-of girl. I'd choose sneakers any day over open toe sandals and flip flops. Crazy right? Vans, Converse = love! The dirtier the sneakers the better! Anyone remember Globes? Oh man…yes I wore those huge shoes, they made my feet look massive. But they were soo comfy!
