New experience!

Apricot Lane Boutique has featured me this week as their Featured Fashion Blogger, can I say what an honor it is! Who would have thought little 'ol me would be invited to join a special select group of bloggers. Let me tell you a little bit about the store and how I felt so welcomed there.

Apricot Lane Boutique is located in Provo Utah at the Shops at Riverwoods and has been opened about a year. This boutique has super adorable and affordable clothes and accessories. Lets just say I couldn't leave the store without spending a few bucks. The ladies that worked there are super friendly and were willing to lend a helping hand. I felt very welcomed there as a customer AND as a friend.

While there I picked my signature look in which they will be selling it on their online store on their Facebook page. It's a MUST that you go check out their store, there are amazing things featured on it! Here are a few pictures that the talented Aubry took of me while I was trying to play model in my signature look, the Lacy Lady!

One of the reasons I picked the Lacy Lady as my signature tops was because I could see myself wearing it for either a formal event with a skirt or you could dress it down as I have here. These pants were so comfy and fit perfect, not to mention I love that really dark blue color of them. I didn't pick them up at the time but kinda want to make the trip back for them.

They seriously had 3 large tables just full of fun, colorful, and fancy jewelry! I bought a bracelet while I was there and love it! The belt I'm wearing isn't actually a belt, it's a necklace and look how cute it is!

Well there you have it, my Lacy Lady signature look. What do you think? If you love it (which I know all of you do!) head on over to their Facebook page and to their online store  because you are all getting a discount of 50% off an ENTIRE online store purchase! CRAZY GOOD DEAL HUH? All you have to do is use the code NIKKI50 ! They also have designer denim there too, so go check it out!

Also don't forget to follow them at these places too

Happy Saturday

Skirt-Old, Shirt- H&M, Shoes- Forever Young Shoes, Hat-Nordstrom, Watch-Michael Kors

I don't know if I'm a huge fan of this hat...yet. See I have this problem with hat's I try them on at the store, think they look great, buy them, then get it home and then don't like it. So I have a drawer full of hats I don't wear and this might become one of them. The other problem I have with hats is my head is so small none of them usually fit me. This one is a little large and I might have to make-shift a elastic headband into it to keep it on my little child size head.

Well hope you guys have a great Saturday! Oh and I finally started using my Facebook page, you should go and like it :) Make sure and check back on Monday for a fun post!

No Title

So the way my day has been going I decided to title this post 'No Title', why...Well lets just say that EVERY single thing I tried to do, did, or planning on doing hated me!! I'm surprised that my camera worked to take these pictures and the laptop is currently working. Seriously! I can honestly say that there were probably 3 pros to my day today.

1. My hair turned out way freaking cute (helps if you actually wash, blow dry, and straighten it)
2. Went to work then got both my patients out so got to go home early
and
3. I got to work with some of my favorite girls...too bad I didn't get to hangout with them very much
anyways...I'm going to take a nap. Night night!

CRAZIEST WEEK EVER!

So this week has been an emotional roller coaster! It's had it's feelings of excitement, fear, being unsafe, extreme fatigue, vulnerability, anger, relaxation, fun, and the feeling of being content. I know that's a lot for one week but there are stories. Here's the story(this story doesn't include the happy emotions FYI)

The Hubs and I came home from our long road trip a day early due to a call that our house had been broken into! Can you image the feeling of being a 6 hour car ride away and hearing those words! I was angry! I was sad to think of what was missing! I felt just sick to my stomach! What made the situation even worse was...we kinda expected this to happen. This is not because we live in a dangerous neighborhood or anything but because we knew there were some troubled teens and one lived right next door. So in natural fashion we prepared ourselves for a disaster, we hide the important things and recruited people to watch over our house (which included a mother-in-law and father-in-law coming twice daily to check on it, amazing people!) Unfortunately that just wasn't enough. We immediately asked if our important things were still there, which they were! This was the only thing that made the car ride bar able.
When we got home the first time I walked into the house, I felt very strange knowing someone had invaded my private, personal space. The feelings of being safe in that location were no more, this was not my house anymore! It was hard, I had to throw some pillows away, make new security arrangements and try and just go on living my life how I had before.
It's been a little over a week since this happened and I'm still very uncomfortable, I lock every door even if it's noon, if I hear a weird sound outside or even a loud car I hurry to the window. I've moved my valuables out of the house in hopes that they are safer there and I call the Hubs way more than I use-to during his work day. THIS IS A HORRIBLE WAY TO LIVE!
I can't give too much detail only because we are pressing charges on these teens, and if you know who I'm speaking of please don't mention any names(only because it's not fair to the ones I love).  I just hope that the teens get the punishment they deserve and realize they may not have physically stolen anything from me but emotionally robbed me of my feelings of safety in my own home!

Hubs won

This is that same savers dress. Earlier in the day I had styled it in a completely different way, then the Hubs called me into the room and said 'try this shirt on, you look like Easter right now and I can't handle it...' I did because I'm always interested in his point of view. Well this is the outfit he put together...not to bad I have to say!

Did you know...Because I had NO IDEA!

Have you shopped here? I think I've set foot in one maybe 3 times before this weeks festivities! I was invited to join the fun of a Preview Shopping Event for a new Savers opening locally in South Jordan Utah. I was thrilled to be included and to have a new fun shopping experience because I'd never been invited to an event such as this one.

I recruited my friend Angelee to come with me and we went out to dinner first then went and spent some money! It was so much fun! Not to mention that Savers is such a great company! I learned so much about where they get their clothes, and their Savers Cycle! Let me share some interesting facts about his great company!

*Savers works with your community based nonprofits. This Savers in South Jordan works with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Utah and Friends of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

*Savers buys the donated clothes from those nonprofit alliances and resells the highest-quality items. They also except donations in store.

*Then Savers recycles the unsold items or sends them to developing nations around the globe, which in turns keeps them out of the landfills.

*Over the past 10 years Savers has paid over 140 nonprofit offices $1.5 billion dollars.

*They have saved our landfills of more than 600 million pounds of quality merchandise by recycling.

I was surprised and seriously had no idea that this was what Savers did. It makes me feel better about spending money there and I might just end up being a thrifter after all.

I'm calling this my Jackie Kennedy Jacket! It fits perfectly and lets not forget it was less than $10!

This piece was way too big and if my Angelee would have thought it would have been an easy fast fix  I would have bought it. FYI Angelee has her  Bachelors in Costume Design, she's the best at sewing and possibly will be starting her own sewing blog!

Find of the Day! I LOVE this dress and in fact am wearing it today! So look forward to an outfit post a little later on with me in it!

Savers also put on a fashion show featuring some of their clothes.

This is the loot we took home (sorry not a good picture)! I found that Coach purse (top right) in great condition and Ang found tons of dresses! 9 great items!

Thanks Savers for opening my eyes to your great company!
